Meet Luke

Luke is currently studying a Bachelor of Communications (Digital Media), starting in 2021 and is set to graduate in late 2023.

Do you enjoy your course?

My course is Digital Media, which I have really enjoyed studying here at Charles Sturt University. I wasn’t sure what to expect initially but it turned out really well for me and I have stuck with it for the 3 years that I’ve been studying here.

I have enjoyed the balance between studies and my social life, and I am able to put my time into sports and friends as well.

Has it provided you with industry experience?

Placement subjects allowed for me to be exposed to the industry, and helped confirm how much I enjoy doing this work, and how I’m looking forward to working in the industry.

What skills have you gotten out of your course?

I have got lots of different skills out of the digital media course like hands-on skills with equipment and editing, team working skills, and coding.

The creative element of my course allows me to experiment, develop my skills and express myself in my work.

Initially, I wasn’t big on the theory side of digital media, but as I progressed, I found that I enjoyed learning about it more and more.

Overall, I really enjoyed how hands-on the course is, and how I had the ability to be creative with my work.

Is there anything you are glad to have learnt throughout your degree?

I have learnt that digital media is an ever-changing industry, and so the course has provided me with all different experiences with all different aspects of digital media which has been really helpful.

I have also been able to create projects that allow me to have work to reference to, when going out and looking for jobs.
